- Our first stop is a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in Oman and one of the most popular places to visit in Muscat. It can accommodate up to 20,000 worshippers at a time. The structure features a blend of various architectural styles, highlighted by its beautiful décor and the spectacular crystal chandeliers and handmade Persian rugs, one of the largest in the world.
- We then head to the Bait Al Zubair Museum, where we trace the fascinating history and development of the country and get a glimpse into the past and present lives of the Omani people.
- From there, we proceed to the Royal Opera House, inspired by the Sultan Qaboos' love for opera. The Royal Opera House inspires those who attend it, and they cannot help but be stunned by its decoration. Our knowledgeable guide will walk you through the history of the opera house. The Opera Galleria houses 50 shops and sumptuous international cafés.
- Post the Royal Opera House visit, a drive along the waterfront corniche following a picturesque coastal road to the colourful Muttrah Souq (traditional marketplace). -After making a short stop at the bustling Fish Market, we explore the many wares available at the Mattrah Souq (Marketplace), where you get a feel of the traditional Arab market.
- Afterwards, we visit the official residence of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq, the magnificent Al Alam Palace, which is situated right in the heart of Muscat. While the palace is not open to the public, tourists can walk around the yard and gardens in front and click pictures here. Al Jalali and Mirani, two Portuguese forts from the 17th century, are located next to the palace on either side.
